Project manager Liese Mertens

Liese Mertens is the project manager of the European Marie Skłodowska-Curie project REWORLDING at Hasselt University. She coordinates the project’s international research network, supports the fellows and supervisors and steers the collaborative and participatory pathways that shape the programme.

She is part of the Civic and Policy Design group, where she links her background in Interior Architecture (Scenography) and educational training with experience in project management and research on visualisation and the perception of spatial change. Before joining REWORLDING in 2024, she worked on participatory projects such as the Complex Project North-South Limburg, Groene Long Meulenberg and Kunst in Opdracht.

Her work centres on enabling collaboration, connecting partners and creating the organisational conditions that allow research and co-creation to flourish.
