PhD Researcher Carolina Carvalho

Carolina is a designer and researcher based in Ireland.

They hold a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Design and Multimedia from the University of Coimbra. Prior to their participation in Reworlding, they worked as a UI designer. Their research interests center on topics such as accessibility, digital literacy, and the intersections of design and activism. As part of the MSCA Doctoral Network, their PhD at the University of Limerick focuses on autism and inclusive environments, particularly how best practices developed with, and by, autistic people can better inform participatory design, and vice-versa. For this, they will work alongside autism organisations, to identify current accessible services and barriers to the inclusion of autistic people in Ireland.
