Bert Villa (Constructlab)
Description
Bert Villa is a Ghent-based phenomenological artist-architect. With his installations, photography and architectural structures, Villa engages with the codes of (human-made) environments and our perception of those environments. Villa is representing ConstructLab: a collaborative construction practice working on both ephemeral and permanent projects with a desire to enhance feelings of community and heighten the sense of place. The practice puts an emphasis on collaboration, both with one another and with members of the community. Through this way of collaborative practice Constructlab aims to develop and execute projects with care for each other and the environments in which it operates. Villa currently teaches ad KU Leuven architectuur campus
Ghent, is part of the artist-run collective 019 and has recently released his first book ‘Assembly’ with Kunstenplatform Plan B published by MER. Paper Kunsthalle and Borgerhoff Lamberigts.
